zappi charging modes
- Fast: full power, like any 7kW charger
- Eco: uses surplus solar and tops up from the grid to keep a minimum rate
- Eco+: surplus solar only, so charging stops when the sun goes in
Getting the setup right
A zappi is only as good as its current clamp (CT) placement. We fit the grid CT on your incoming meter tails and, if you have solar, a generation CT on the inverter output. That way the charger knows exactly what you're exporting. It also works with myenergi's eddi (hot water diverter) and libbi battery.
Without solar?
A zappi still works as a capable smart charger on overnight tariffs, and it's ready if you add panels later. See solar EV charging.
