Home EV chargers we install

We aren't tied to one brand. Here's how the main chargers compare, so you can choose the one that suits your car, your tariff and whether you have solar.

Tethered or untethered?

Tethered chargers have the cable attached: plug in and go. Untethered (socket) chargers look neater and you use your car's own Type 2 cable. Most drivers charging daily at home prefer tethered.

7kW is the sweet spot

Nearly all UK homes have a single-phase supply, which tops out at about 7.4kW for a home charger. 22kW chargers need three-phase power, which few houses have, and many cars can't take 22kW on AC anyway.

Check tariff compatibility

If you're planning to use a smart EV tariff, check the tariff's current list of supported chargers or cars before choosing. Lists change, so we check at survey.

Common questions

Which charger is best?

There's no single best. For tariff-led overnight charging, Ohme and Hypervolt are popular. With solar, zappi leads. For two cars, Easee is neat. We'll recommend one at your survey.

Can I supply my own charger?

Yes, as long as it's new, UK-compliant and smart-regulations approved. We'll quote installation only.
