Common faults we fix
- Charger not charging: the car is plugged in, the light is on, nothing happens
- RCD or breaker trips: on plug-in or partway through a session
- Offline or lost Wi-Fi: the app can't see the charger, so smart charging stops
- PEN-fault or earth fault warnings: the charger has shut down to protect you
- Error codes and red lights on Pod Point, Ohme, zappi, Hypervolt, Easee and others
- Damaged cables and plugs: crushed tethers, cracked Type 2 plugs, water ingress
- Slow charging: stuck at a low current, or load balancing set up wrong
How a repair visit works
Call or send the form with your charger make, any error code and a photo if you can. Some faults can be fixed remotely, or with a simple reset over the phone. If not, an electrician visits to test the circuit, the charger and the supply, tells you what's wrong, and quotes for the fix before doing anything else.
If the charger is still under warranty, we can gather the test results the manufacturer needs for a warranty claim.
When repair isn't worth it
Some early chargers are no longer supported. Their apps don't work, or parts aren't made any more. If a repair costs more than a sensible share of a new charger, we'll say so and quote a like-for-like replacement using your existing circuit, which keeps the cost down.
Chargers with no installer to call
A lot of chargers in Basingstoke were fitted by national installers or online retailers who no longer cover the area. We'll take those on. You don't need the original paperwork, but it helps if you have it.
Common questions
Do you charge a callout fee?
Diagnostic visits typically cost £90 to £150, and that's usually taken off the repair if you go ahead. You get a price before any work starts.
My charger keeps tripping the RCD. Is it safe to use?
Stop using it and leave the breaker off until it's been tested. Repeated trips can point to a fault in the charger, the cable or the car.
Can you repair a Pod Point that Pod Point installed?
Yes. We work on all makes regardless of who fitted them, unless you'd rather use a manufacturer warranty.
