Developers and self-builders

New builds and Part S

Since June 2022, new homes in England with associated parking must have a chargepoint under Part S of the Building Regulations. We supply and fit them for small developers, builders and self-builders.

What Part S requires

New dwellings with associated parking need at least one chargepoint, with exemptions in limited cases such as where grid connection costs are very high. Major renovations creating new dwellings, and some commercial buildings, have their own requirements. Chargers must also meet the smart charge point regulations.

How we work with builders

  • First-fix cable runs and ducting planned with your electrician at the right stage
  • Second-fix charger supply and installation timed for handover
  • Commissioning and certificates for building control and the new owner
  • Charger choices that suit the plot: tethered or untethered, colour and mounting

Bought a new build?

Many new homes in Popley, Hatch Warren and the newer developments around the town came with a basic charger. If yours is faulty, slow or doesn't work with your tariff, we can repair or upgrade it.

Common questions

Does every new build need an EV charger?

New homes in England with associated parking generally need one under Part S, subject to limited exemptions. Check your scheme with building control.

Can you work to a site programme?

Yes. We plan first and second fix around your build stages so the charger is ready for completion.
